Samsung Unveils Gemini AI on Foldables, Watch & Robot at Galaxy Unpacked

Samsung Unveils Gemini AI on Foldables, Watch & Robot at Galaxy Unpacked

Samsung has significantly deepened its collaboration with Google, integrating the Gemini AI assistant across a suite of new devices launched at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The rollout includes foldable smartphones, smartwatches, and even a home companion robot powered by Google Gemini.

Key Device Launches

  • Galaxy Z Fold7 (8.9 mm folded): Features AI-powered tools like Drawing Assist, Writing Assist, and Circle to Search, all powered by Gemini.
  • Galaxy Z Flip7 (13.7 mm folded): Introduces outfit and meal suggestions via Gemini Live, leveraging the external screen for visual-based advice.
  • Galaxy Watch8 lineup: Debuts Wear OS 6 with Gemini support, offering on-wrist voice assistance, personal data summaries, and health integrations.

Gemini Powers Ballie Home Robot

Samsung and Google Cloud also announced that Ballie, Samsung’s home AI companion robot, will operate using Google Cloud’s Gemini. Ballie can engage in voice and visual conversations, manage home lighting, schedule reminders, and even offer styling advice based on camera and sensor input.

Advanced AI Across the Ecosystem

Google’s Circle to Search now supports AI Overviews and in-game assistance, while Gemini Live allows users to share their screens and videos during conversations.

Samsung apps like Calendar, Notes, and Reminder now integrate with Gemini, enabling smart actions from voice commands. On-device Gemini Nano enhances responsiveness in messaging with Magic Compose and Photomoji .
