SANTUBONG – A community event combining aerobics and a fun walk has successfully bolstered the launch of National Family Month 2025 celebrations in this coastal area.
The gathering attracted numerous local residents for a day dedicated to fostering healthy lifestyles and strengthening community bonds.
The Santubong Family KASIH Aerobics and Fun Walk Programme was officiated by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri, who is also the Member of Parliament for Santubong.
The event took place at Dataran Astaka Lagenda, turning the village into a hub of family-oriented activity.
Participants began with an aerobics session led by certified instructors, followed by a fun walk that commenced at the main tent and wound through the village.
The initiative was designed to encourage physical well-being and reinforce familial and neighbourhood spirit.
Beyond the main events, the programme was enlivened by a diverse range of competitions and exhibitions.
These included a “Saya Sayang Keluarga” colouring contest for children, a heritage sambal cooking competition, and a beach volleyball tournament.
A decorated fishing boat exhibition and a fishing village costume contest on the main stage highlighted local culture.
Additionally, various government agencies set up informational exhibitions, while local vendors operated stalls selling handicrafts and community products.
The broad array of activities provided entertainment for all ages, solidifying the event’s role as a key platform for community engagement and family togetherness.
