Sarawak to Host First Statewide Aerodance Community Tour in 2026

Sarawak to Host First Statewide Aerodance Community Tour in 2026

KUCHING – The Sarawak Commercial Photographic Association will organise Sarawak’s first-ever statewide Aerodance-driven community tour in 2026, marking a new chapter in community wellness and inclusive activities across the state. The large-scale programme is expected to draw strong public participation as it combines music, movement and healthy living in a series of open community events held in four major cities.

The tour will begin in Miri on April 19, 2026, followed by Bintulu on May 17, 2026, Sibu on June 7, 2026, and will conclude in Kuching on July 5, 2026. Through this initiative, the association aims to unite communities from different regions under one shared goal of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

According to the organisers, the programme is driven by three main objectives. The first is to encourage healthier living among Sarawakians through a fun and accessible group fitness activity. The second is to raise funds in support of the 14th United Asia Professional Photography Association Annual General Meeting, which will be hosted in Kuching in 2026. The third objective is to introduce and popularise Aerodance as a modern and engaging fitness option suitable for people of all ages.

Each city leg of the tour will be officiated by distinguished guests of honour. In Miri, the event will be officiated by YB Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew. In Bintulu, the guest of honour will be YB Johnny Pang Leong Ming. Sibu’s event will be officiated by YB Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, while the Kuching finale will be officiated by YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian.

The association is targeting strong participation, with an estimated 500 participants expected in Miri, Bintulu and Sibu respectively, and up to 1,000 participants anticipated in Kuching. Organisers believe the strong turnout will reflect growing public awareness of health and community-based activities.

To ensure quality and consistency throughout the tour, the association will collaborate with Mr Busman bin Noor, a well-known figure in Sarawak’s senamarobik and group fitness scene. Mr Busman is the Sarawak Senamarobik Champion and the second runner-up of the fifth Seagcon Championship in Indonesia. He has also served as a facilitator for the Fundamental Senamarobik Programme under KBS, MYSED, SAIEF and JFH. His involvement is expected to bring structure, energy and professionalism to all four events.

Registration for the tour is now open and offers four participation categories with different fee levels to suit the public. Registration will close on March 31, 2026, and participants can register online through the official platform provided by the organisers.

With its strong focus on health, community unity and regional engagement, the Aerodance tour is expected to become one of Sarawak’s most anticipated community events in 2026, setting a solid foundation for future statewide wellness programmes.
