SINGAPORE – Sarawak is taking strategic steps to enhance its public command service delivery system through a collaboration with Singapore’s OneService Municipal Services Office (MSO), marking a significant move towards realising its vision of becoming a digital nation by 2030.

Led by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Secretary (Operations), Datu Hii Chang Kee, the Sarawak delegation engaged in a technical exchange session with MSO officers as part of a knowledge-sharing initiative aimed at improving Sarawak’s Talikhidmat platform.

Accompanied by UKAS Director Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, Chew Chang Guan from Sarawak Trade and Tourism Company Pte. Ltd. (STATOS), and eight other Sarawak officials, the delegation studied MSO’s integrated system which streamlines public service delivery using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and citizen-centric technologies.

The group was warmly welcomed by MSO Senior Director, Lim Chee Hwee, who briefed them on the operational structure of MSO under Singapore’s Ministry of National Development (MND). MSO’s flagship OneService platform, which currently serves over 600,000 registered users, offers residents a seamless way to report municipal issues and receive timely updates.

Of particular interest to the Sarawak delegation was MSO’s use of AI to enhance service responsiveness and inter-agency coordination, ensuring public issues are resolved efficiently across departments.

The Sarawak team views this collaboration as a blueprint to upgrade its Talikhidmat system, making it more efficient, AI-integrated, and aligned with the state’s smart governance agenda. The knowledge exchange is expected to improve responsiveness to public feedback and ensure more coordinated government service delivery across Sarawak.

“This marks an important step as we work to enhance the Talikhidmat platform, ensuring it becomes a true bridge between the government and the people,” said a UKAS representative.

The visit affirms Sarawak’s commitment to forging international partnerships and adopting best practices in smart public service delivery as part of its digital transformation journey under Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
