KUCHING – The Sarawak Cultural Village welcomed guests and the local community for an Iftar Jamaie gathering on 13 March 2026, held at Rumah Melayu. The event brought together residents, resort representatives, and invited guests in a spirit of unity and reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
The evening began with the arrival of attendees, followed by the breaking of fast together. Guests then performed Solat Maghrib berjemaah before sharing a fellowship dinner in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The programme continued with Solat Isyak and Solat Tarawih, concluding with a light moreh session that added to the sense of togetherness.
The gathering was supported by the staff of Sarawak Cultural Village and the community of Kampung Santubong, alongside invited guests from Damai Beach Resort, Damai Lagoon Resort, Permai Rainforest Resort, and Damai Golf & Country Club.
Their participation contributed to the success of the evening, reinforcing the values of friendship and community spirit.
A special acknowledgement was extended to Encik Mahfuz Omar, General Manager of Damai Golf & Country Club, whose presence added significance to the occasion.
The Imam who led the congregational prayers guided attendees through the spiritual moments of the night, ensuring the religious aspects of the programme were observed with reverence.
The event highlighted the importance of Ramadan as a time for unity, gratitude, and reflection. By bringing together diverse groups, the gathering strengthened bonds of friendship and underscored the role of cultural institutions in fostering community ties.
