KUCHING – A discussion session on the registration of court cases through the Sabah and Sarawak e-Justice System (EKSS) was held on 13 April 2026 at the IT Room of the Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department, Sultan Iskandar Building.
The session was organised in collaboration with Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. (SAINS), focusing on efforts to streamline case management and registration using digital platforms.
The initiative forms part of the wider digital transformation agenda aimed at modernising public services in Sarawak and Sabah.
Participants reviewed how the EKSS system could enhance efficiency and transparency in handling court-related matters.
By digitising processes, the system is expected to reduce administrative delays, improve accessibility, and provide a more reliable framework for managing legal documentation.
Officials highlighted that the adoption of EKSS represents a significant step forward in integrating technology into judicial processes.
The system is designed to simplify workflows, reduce reliance on manual procedures, and ensure that case information is securely managed.
The discussion also emphasised the importance of collaboration between government agencies and technology providers.
By working together, stakeholders aim to ensure that the system is implemented smoothly and delivers maximum benefits to the public.
The Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department noted that initiatives such as EKSS are crucial in supporting the state’s broader digital transformation strategy.
The move towards digitalisation reflects Sarawak’s commitment to modernising governance and improving service delivery across multiple sectors.
With EKSS expected to play a central role in future court case management, the session underscored the need for continuous engagement and training to ensure that users are well-prepared to adopt the system.
The programme is anticipated to strengthen the legal infrastructure in both Sarawak and Sabah, contributing to more effective and transparent judicial processes.
