KUALA LUMPUR – The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, arrived in the capital on 6 December accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi.
The couple landed safely at the Skypark Terminal, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, at 1.45 pm. Their arrival was warmly received by Encik Awang Supian Awang Daud, Chief Liaison Officer of the Sarawak House Kuala Lumpur, along with senior officers from Astana Sarawak.
The visit marks another important engagement for the Sarawak Governor, who continues to maintain strong ties between Sarawak and the federal capital.
The welcoming party reflected the significance of the occasion, with representatives from Sarawak’s administrative offices present to greet the dignitaries.
Following his arrival, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi expressed prayers for smooth proceedings during his time in Kuala Lumpur.
He emphasised the importance of ensuring that all matters in the capital would be facilitated effectively, underscoring his commitment to strengthening Sarawak’s presence and representation at the national level.
The Governor’s arrival comes at a time when Sarawak continues to play a pivotal role in Malaysia’s development agenda.
His engagements in Kuala Lumpur are expected to include meetings with federal counterparts, discussions on ongoing projects, and participation in ceremonial events.
Toh Puan Fauziah, who accompanied him, was described as being in high spirits during the journey. Her presence highlighted the family-oriented nature of the visit, reinforcing the supportive role she plays alongside the Governor in official and social functions.
The Skypark Terminal in Subang, known for handling domestic and regional flights, has frequently served as a gateway for state leaders arriving in Kuala Lumpur.
The warm reception extended to the Sarawak Governor and his wife reflects the cordial relationship between Sarawak’s leadership and the capital’s administrative representatives.
This arrival sets the stage for a series of engagements that will further strengthen Sarawak’s visibility in Kuala Lumpur.
