The Royal Malaysian Navy Base in Lumut is the country’s largest naval facility and plays a crucial role in safeguarding Malaysia’s maritime interests. The governor’s presence at the base reflects ongoing efforts to foster cooperation between Sarawak and national defence bodies, particularly in areas of strategic importance.
In his remarks, the governor expressed hope that the visit would bring “a thousand and one benefits” and contribute positively to future cooperation. The official programme is expected to include discussions with naval leadership and a review of operational capabilities at the base.
