The 2:30pm visit served as a platform for the Minister to present Toh Puan’s initiative to establish a Final Phase Chronic Patient Care Centre—a proposed palliative care facility for individuals of all ages requiring long-term and end-of-life care.

Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan warmly welcomed the initiative, recognising its importance as Sarawak faces an increasingly ageing population. They expressed full support for the proposal and called on KPWK to prepare a comprehensive concept paper addressing key aspects including funding, human resources, medical expertise, city-based locations, and strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Health, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

During the meeting, Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan also shared constructive suggestions with the ministry on improving existing programmes. These included enhancing e-Kasih, integrating humanitarian values into early childhood education, and implementing re-skilling initiatives in rural areas to uplift undereducated citizens.
