KUCHING – His Excellency Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, marked the New Year’s Day public holiday by enjoying a family dinner at a hotel in Kuching city centre.
The gathering was especially meaningful as it was the first time in a year that the Governor and his wife were able to dine together with all their family members.
Present at the dinner were their daughters Sharifah Fariah with her husband Encik Muhammad Syukri Mohamad Draim, Sharifah Nong-Jasima with her husband Encik Muhammad Nur Hakeem Yusop, and Sharifah Nuril Barieyah with her husband Encik David James Foley.
Also joining the occasion were Encik Tasneem and grandchildren Puteri Athena Maimunah and Feona Elsie Norjannah Foley.
Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to spend valuable time together, noting that such gatherings strengthen family bonds. The evening was filled with casual conversation, laughter, and warmth, reflecting the importance of family unity and love.
The dinner highlighted the Governor’s appreciation for family values and the joy of togetherness, especially during festive occasions. It also underscored the significance of maintaining close ties despite busy schedules and responsibilities.
The event concluded with heartfelt expressions of thanks from the Governor and Toh Puan, who emphasised that moments like these reinforce the spirit of harmony and strengthen relationships across generations.
