Sarawak Governor Shares Family Dinner in Petra Jaya

KUCHING – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, hosted a warm family dinner at their official residence in Petra Jaya on Tuesday evening.

The gathering was attended by close relatives, including Tun Pehin Sri’s youngest aunt Puan Sharifah Rashidah Tuanku Abdul Rahman and her husband, affectionately known as Usu Zakaria.

Also, present were Sharifah Nong-Jasima and her husband Encik Nur Hakeem, alongside her mother-in-law Puan Jasnah binti Obeng.

Family ties were further highlighted by the attendance of Puan Siti Azlina, a cousin of Tun Pehin Sri, accompanied by her daughters Aisha and Alisha, as well as another cousin Encik Wan Zaidi with his wife Puan Zainab.

The evening unfolded in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, offering the governor and his wife a chance to reconnect with family members.

Conversations flowed easily, with stories exchanged and updates shared, reflecting the closeness and affection that bind the extended family together.

Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones despite the demands of official duties.

They described the dinner as a meaningful occasion to reinforce family bonds and nurture the spirit of unity that underpins harmony within their household.

The event highlighted the balance between leadership responsibilities and personal connections, showing how family remains a cornerstone of strength for the governor and his wife.

Their presence at such gatherings underscores the value they place on maintaining ties with relatives and celebrating the traditions of Sarawak’s community life.

This family-centred evening at Petra Jaya reflects the enduring importance of kinship in Sarawak’s cultural fabric, where moments of togetherness continue to play a vital role in sustaining harmony and mutual support.
