Sarawak Governor Joins Friday Prayers at Darul Hana Mosque

KUCHING – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, attended Friday prayers at Darul Hana Mosque, Jalan Tun Salahudin, on 24 April, marking a significant occasion for the local Muslim community.

Upon arrival, His Excellency was warmly received by senior officials including Haji Mual bin Haji Suaud, Director of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Haji Kusyairi Bostani, Chief Operating Officer of the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), and Ustaz Haji Ramzen bin Ambi, Head of JAIS’s Halal Management Division. Members of the mosque committee were also present to welcome the Governor.

The prayer session was led by Ustaz Haji Zaidi bin Haji Edward, an officer from the Darul Hana Quranic Centre under Majlis Islam Sarawak.

He delivered a sermon entitled “Self-Audit Towards Divine Pleasure”, which encouraged worshippers to reflect on their personal conduct and strive for spiritual fulfilment.

Following the prayers, Tun Pehin Sri took time to interact with congregants, exchanging greetings and strengthening community ties.

He also distributed envelopes containing donations to children, a gesture that highlighted his commitment to fostering goodwill and compassion within society.
