KUCHING – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, spent the late afternoon of 13 April enjoying light leisure activities at Kasuma Resort, Petra Jaya. They were joined by their daughter, Sharifah Fariah.
The family engaged in a brisk walk around the residential area, a routine they often practise when time permits.
The activity, lasting approximately half an hour, covered a distance of two kilometres. It provided both physical exercise and an opportunity to unwind after a day of official duties.
Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan have long emphasised the importance of maintaining fitness and mental well-being through simple routines such as walking. They view these activities as a way to strengthen family bonds while promoting a balanced lifestyle.
The governor highlighted that leisure activities are not only beneficial for health but also serve as a reminder of the need to balance professional responsibilities with personal care.
He noted that such practices should be encouraged across society as part of a broader commitment to healthy living.
The walk at Kasuma Resort reflects the couple’s dedication to setting an example for the community. By prioritising wellness, they hope to inspire others to adopt similar habits that contribute to overall well-being.
Healthy lifestyle practices, including regular exercise and family-orientated activities, are increasingly recognised as essential for long-term health.
In Sarawak, leaders have often promoted such initiatives to encourage citizens to take proactive steps in caring for themselves.
Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan expressed their hope that more people will embrace these routines, seeing them not only as a way to improve physical fitness but also as a foundation for mental resilience and social harmony.
Their commitment to wellness underscores the importance of integrating healthy practices into daily life, regardless of professional demands.
