KUCHING — More than 150 young gymnasts from Sarawak and Sabah came together at the Sarawak Inter School Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) Competition 2025, held at Dewan Sa’ati, SUPP Headquarters.

The event was officially launched by N13 Batu Kitang Assemblyman YB Dato Lo Khere Chiang, who commended the participants for their discipline, teamwork, and artistic talent. He said the competition was more than a sporting event, describing it as a platform that promotes unity, friendship, and excellence among youths in Borneo.
“Aesthetic Group Gymnastics is not just about competition. It is about celebrating artistry, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. These are values that shape our youth to become confident, responsible, and resilient citizens,” he said during his officiating speech.
The competition gathered school teams from across Sarawak with strong support from parents, teachers, and coaches. Gymnasts from Sabah were also welcomed as special guests, strengthening ties between the two states through sports and cultural exchange.

Dato Lo extended his appreciation to the Sarawak Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (SAGGA) for their hard work in organising the event and to the Malaysian Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Association (MAGGA) for their continued guidance.
He encouraged all participants, known affectionately as Anak Sarawak and Anak Sabah, to continue training with passion and to support one another. “Together, we can uplift this beautiful sport to greater heights. Agi Idup, Agi Ngelaban,” he added.
The Sarawak Inter School AGG Competition 2025 not only showcased gymnastic talent but also served as a reminder of the importance of nurturing the next generation through sports. With its blend of elegance, discipline, and teamwork, AGG continues to gain recognition as one of the most inspiring youth sports in the region.
