SIBU – The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director, YBrs Tuan Norizan Jili, carried out a working visit to the Stapang Enforcement Station (SP) on 8 April 2026 to review ongoing operational activities.
The visit provided the Director with an opportunity to observe enforcement measures firsthand, including the lorry weighing operations conducted at the station. These checks are part of JPJ’s continuous efforts to ensure that commercial vehicles comply with load limits and safety regulations.
By personally inspecting the procedures, Tuan Norizan reinforced JPJ Sarawak’s commitment to strengthening enforcement effectiveness. He emphasised that integrity and efficiency must remain central to every aspect of operations, ensuring that regulations are upheld consistently across the state.
JPJ Sarawak has highlighted that enforcement activities such as those at Stapang are critical in maintaining road safety. Overloaded vehicles pose risks not only to drivers but also to other road users, and strict monitoring helps reduce accidents and safeguard public wellbeing.
The department also reiterated its dedication to improving service delivery. By enhancing enforcement quality and operational standards, JPJ aims to build public confidence while ensuring that Sarawak’s roads remain safe and reliable for all.
This working visit reflects the proactive role of JPJ’s leadership in monitoring ground-level operations and supporting officers in their duties. It also demonstrates the department’s broader mission of balancing regulatory compliance with the safety needs of the community.
