KUCHING – Sarawak is using its participation in PATA Travel Mart 2026 to promote the state’s tourism experiences while highlighting opportunities for business partnerships and investment within the sector.
Through Hemisphere Corporation, the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is representing Sarawak at the regional travel trade event, providing an avenue to engage with tourism industry players and explore potential areas of cooperation.
The participation places Sarawak’s tourism offering before a wider regional industry audience, with the focus extending beyond visitor experiences to include business and investment opportunities linked to the state’s tourism sector.
SEDC Group Chief Executive Officer Puan Hajah Rakayah Hamdan also took part in engagements with industry partners during the event. Her participation included discussions aimed at strengthening relationships and maintaining links with tourism stakeholders.
The presence of SEDC at the event reflects its broader involvement in supporting the development of Sarawak’s tourism-related opportunities. Engagements with regional industry representatives can provide a platform for identifying potential partnerships and increasing awareness of what Sarawak can offer.
Tourism trade events such as PATA Travel Mart bring together representatives from different parts of the travel industry, creating opportunities for destinations and businesses to establish contacts with prospective partners.
For Sarawak, participation provides an opportunity to present its tourism products and experiences while also communicating the wider commercial potential associated with the state’s visitor economy.
Hemisphere Corporation’s involvement has also enabled SEDC to connect Sarawak’s tourism interests with a broader network of regional tourism stakeholders. Such engagement can help create channels for future cooperation between Sarawak-based organisations and industry players outside the state.
Rakayah’s discussions with industry partners further underscored SEDC’s interest in maintaining and developing relationships within the tourism sector.
The engagement comes as Sarawak continues to position tourism as an area for economic activity, with the sector involving destinations, hospitality providers, tour operators, transport services, cultural attractions and other businesses.
By taking part in regional industry platforms, Sarawak can also gain greater exposure among tourism professionals and potential commercial partners who may be interested in developing programmes or investment activities connected to the state.
SEDC’s participation therefore combines destination promotion with business networking, allowing Sarawak’s tourism experiences and commercial opportunities to be presented within the same industry setting.
The event also provides a platform for exchanging information with tourism stakeholders and understanding potential areas where partnerships could support the growth of Sarawak’s tourism ecosystem.
Through its presence at PATA Travel Mart 2026, SEDC is seeking to strengthen connections with regional industry partners while maintaining its focus on opportunities linked to Sarawak’s tourism sector.
The engagement demonstrates the importance of industry networking in expanding awareness of Sarawak as a tourism destination and identifying potential avenues for future collaboration and investment.
