Sarawak Premier’s Enduring Love Lives On Beyond Farewell

Sarawak Premier’s Enduring Love Lives On Beyond Farewell

KUCHING, Jan 10, 2026 — More than six months have passed since the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Hajjah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang returned to rahmatullah, yet the deep love of the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, for his beloved wife remains strong and unwavering.

For the Sarawak Premier, the passing of a life partner of 48 years did not mark the end of devotion. Instead, it strengthened a bond built on loyalty, patience, and shared sacrifice. Those close to him say that memories of his late wife continue to guide his heart and actions, reflected quietly in his daily life and personal routines.

Almost every Friday morning, before beginning his official duties, the Premier makes time to visit the resting place of the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Hajjah Juma’ani. At the Semariang Muslim Cemetery in Kuching, he offers prayers and takes a moment of reflection. This simple act has become a personal ritual, a way to honour a woman who stood by him through decades of public service, challenges, and achievements.

Last Friday’s visit held deeper meaning as the Premier was accompanied by his daughter, Puan Dayang Norjihan. Their presence together at the gravesite reflected strong family values rooted in respect, remembrance, and continuity across generations. The quiet moment shared by father and daughter showed how love and gratitude are passed down, not spoken loudly, but lived sincerely.

Observers noted the calm and respectful atmosphere during the visit. There were no grand gestures, only silent prayers and a composed presence. It was a powerful reminder that true affection does not disappear with loss. Instead, it continues through faith, memory, and steadfast commitment to what has been shared.

Throughout his years of leadership, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Zohari has often spoken about the importance of family, values, and humility. His continued remembrance of his late wife reflects those principles in action. It shows that behind the responsibilities of office, he remains a husband and father who honours love in its purest form.

As time moves forward, the Premier’s quiet devotion stands as a meaningful example to many. It speaks of love that does not end with separation, but lives on between this world and the hereafter, carried through prayers, loyalty, and memories that remain close to the heart.
