Sarawak Premier Joins Breaking of Fast, Gives Aid to Orphans

KUCHING, March 8 – Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, attended a Breaking of Fast Ceremony organised by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), and Sarawak Bumiputera Development Fund (DBOS). The event took place at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre in Kuching.

Premier Presents Donations to Orphans

As part of the event, the Premier presented donations to 30 orphans from the Sarawak Orphanage Welfare Organisation (PERYATIM). This noble gesture reflects the state government’s commitment to caring for the underprivileged, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Additionally, a RM25,000 donation was handed over to PERYATIM to support their ongoing welfare initiatives. This contribution aims to enhance the well-being of orphans and provide them with better living conditions.

A Meaningful Ramadan Gathering

The Breaking of Fast ceremony brought together government officials, corporate leaders, and members of the public in a spirit of unity and togetherness. After enjoying the meal, the Premier joined the attendees in performing the Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers.

This event highlights the strong community spirit in Sarawak, where government agencies and private organisations collaborate to support those in need. The Premier’s presence further emphasises the importance of helping the less fortunate and fostering social harmony. – Sarawakku
