In addition, MCMC expressed interest in offering a 5G Enterprise solution for Bintulu Port, aiming to boost telecommunication services and support future economic growth in the area.

The discussion also touched on the importance of strengthening connectivity between Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak. Currently, Sarawak relies on a single undersea cable, the 1Malaysia People’s Cable System (SKRM). The Sarawak Government has proposed to MCMC the development of a new undersea cable to ensure more reliable and secure telecommunications access for the state.

Also present during the visit was Sarawak’s Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications, Dato Sri Haji Julaihi bin Haji Narawi.
