Sarawak’s Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to excel on the national stage.

“These teams represent Sarawak’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage through sports. I believe they will bring home medals and possibly secure the overall championship,” he said during the flag-handing ceremony at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) building today.

The event marked a proud moment as the minister handed the Sarawak flag to the competing team from the Kuching Division Chinese Martial Arts Association.

Chester Lim Hian Thoong, the association’s president, revealed that the teams will compete in four key events:

  1. Luminous Dragon Dance
  2. Southern Lion Traditional Dance
  3. High Pole Southern Lion Dance
  4. Northern Lion Dance

“Our goal is not only to win but to elevate Sarawak’s cultural heritage and sports reputation. We aim to perform with enthusiasm and leave a lasting impact,” Chester Lim said.
