MIRI – The Sarawak Sunrise Aerodance 2026 series was officially launched in Miri, marking the city as the first host of this new community-driven fitness initiative.
The event drew participants, sponsors, and community leaders together in a celebration of health, unity, and active living.
The programme was officiated by distinguished guests including Pemanca Leonard Fong, who represented YB Datuk Sebastian Ting, and Penghulu, standing in for Mayor YB Adam Yii.
Organising Chairman Mr Liew Ted Ghee, Sarawak Commercial Photographic Association Chairman Mr Leong Jun Chin, event partner Ryan Jee, and instructor Mr Busman were also present to welcome participants.
Organisers highlighted that the event was not only about exercise and dance but also about strengthening community ties.
The initiative aims to encourage healthier lifestyles while fostering inclusivity across Sarawak’s diverse population.
Guest of Honour Mr Leong Jun Chin described the programme as a “meaningful and inspiring initiative” that promotes wellness and unity.
The Miri edition is significant as it represents the first aerodance-focused community event in Sarawak. By choosing Miri as the launch city, organisers underscored the town’s vibrant spirit and readiness to lead in promoting wellbeing. The event is expected to set a benchmark for similar activities across the state.
Sponsors including Lian Shin and Ghee Kwong were acknowledged for their contributions, which played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event.
