TYT Sarawak Marks Wedding Anniversary With Heartfelt Surprise

TYT Sarawak Marks Wedding Anniversary With Heartfelt Surprise

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 December — A quiet morning in the capital turned meaningful when the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, chose a simple yet touching gesture to honour his wedding anniversary. Before departing for Subang Airport, His Excellency presented his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, with a bouquet of flowers — a gesture that reflected both tradition and deep personal devotion.

The moment took place just before the couple’s scheduled 11am return flight to Kuching. Witnesses described the scene as warm and genuine, showing the enduring bond between the couple, who continue to carry themselves with grace and humility despite their high positions.

According to the Office of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, the surprise was planned as a personal expression of appreciation by Tun Pehin Sri, marking another year of partnership and shared responsibilities. Staff members also expressed their heartfelt wishes, praying for continued health, peace, and lasting happiness for the couple.

The Office noted that the marriage of Tun Pehin Sri and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi has long been seen as an example to the community — a relationship grounded in mutual respect, calm leadership, and unwavering support for one another. Their commitment, shown both in public duties and personal life, continues to inspire many across Sarawak and beyond.

As they boarded their flight home, the anniversary gesture served as a reminder of the value of honouring one’s partner, a tradition that resonates deeply in Malaysian culture. In a world often rushed and distracted, the couple’s simple exchange offered a moment of warmth that many Malaysians can relate to — a celebration of love, loyalty, and shared life journeys.
