Sare Development Strengthened with RM22.6 Million in Projects

SARIKEI – Development in Sare continues to gain momentum with a series of infrastructure and community projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents.

Over the past five years, the government has channelled significant funds to ensure Sare keeps pace with the wider development agenda across Sarawak.

Tanjong Manis Member of Parliament, Dato Ir Yusuf Abdul Wahab, revealed that RM12.6 million has been allocated through various programmes, including the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), People-Friendly Projects (PMR), Rural Connection Roads, and the Sarawak Poor House Improvement Programme (PPRMS). These initiatives, he said, are designed to strengthen basic amenities and community infrastructure.

Speaking at a People’s Meeting in Sare, Dato Yusuf explained that the government’s commitment to rural communities is further reinforced by the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA).

Through RADDA, an additional RM10 million will be invested to upgrade the main road connecting Rumah Panjang Sare and improve facilities at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) San Ming, Sungai Pelong.

“Development in Sare reflects the government’s dedication to defending the interests of rural people. We hope the community will continue to support these efforts for the continuity of progress,” he said.

Among the projects currently underway are the upgrading of the Dewan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Adin Sare premises and the widening of the cement road leading to Rumah Gani Sare.

Completed works include the upgrading of the Rumah Panjang Trieh Sigat road and improvements to the entrance and grounds of Rumah Merupie Bidat.

Further projects include the upgrading of the road and grounds at Rumah Panjang Resat Udin and the construction of a new bridge linking the Church and SK Adin.

Attention has also been given to repair works at the Tabika KEMAS Sungai Teras building and improvements to the main road connecting Rumah Panjang Sare Utara.

The combined RM22.6 million investment underscores the government’s long-term strategy to enhance rural infrastructure, improve accessibility, and provide better facilities for education and community life.

These projects are expected to strengthen Sare’s role within Sarikei’s development framework and ensure that residents benefit from modern amenities while preserving the area’s rural character.
