More than 60 participants took part in the programme, including students, parents, educators, community leaders, and local residents, reflecting strong multi-generational and societal support.

The event was officiated by Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, Sarawak Deputy Minister of Community Wellbeing Development and Saribas State Assemblyman, who praised KEMAS for its community-centred efforts.

“Programmes like this embody our spirit of togetherness and our shared goal of nurturing a morally upright and healthy young generation,” he said. “It also shows that human development is not limited to urban areas, but reaches rural communities where it matters most.”

In line with the Malaysian Madani values, Datuk Razi highlighted that KEMAS will expand its outreach across Saribas DUN. He also noted that infrastructural improvements—such as the planned renovation of the Kampung Sebemban futsal court and construction of public toilets—remain part of the state’s holistic development agenda.

The programme began at 8am with community aerobics and a “1,000 Steps” walk, followed by free health screenings by the Betong Health Office. A religious session titled “Prayer and Ablution” was delivered by Ustaz Karaman Poit, reinforcing the spiritual focus of the event.

This initiative demonstrates how targeted rural programmes can build not only healthier individuals but also a more cohesive and morally resilient society.
