The two organisations formalised their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which sets a framework for initiatives aimed at improving fraud awareness, training, and certification opportunities across government agencies, Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), statutory bodies, and private sector organisations.

Under the agreement, SCOPE and ACFE will jointly organise seminars, workshops, and professional training programmes, including the globally recognised Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.

The partnership will also facilitate the sharing of resources, research, and best practices, while developing tailored training initiatives for Sarawak’s public and private sectors.

SCOPE Chief Executive Officer Joseph Lim described the MoU as a significant step in equipping industries with the knowledge and tools to combat fraud effectively.

“This collaboration aligns with our mission to raise governance standards and foster a culture of integrity,” he said at the signing ceremony.

ACFE President John D. Gill, J.D., CFE, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to protecting organisations from financial and reputational risks.

“Together, we aim to build a community of anti-fraud professionals who can safeguard organisations both now and in the future,” he said.

The MoU will remain in effect for two years, with annual reviews to ensure the initiatives meet evolving anti-fraud strategies and Sarawak’s development priorities.
