SEB Delivers 209 Food Baskets to Sebuyau Flood Victims

SEB Delivers 209 Food Baskets to Sebuyau Flood Victims

SEBUYAU: Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) stepped forward to support flood victims in Sebuyau by donating 209 food baskets to the Sebuyau District Disaster Management Committee. The contribution, made on Tuesday, was aimed at easing the burden of those affected by the recent floods in early February.

Sebuyau District Officer Ayuradiman Bujang, who chairs the committee, received the donation on behalf of the flood victims. He expressed his gratitude to SEB for their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, highlighting the importance of community support during natural disasters.

Aid for 13 Flood-Affected Villages

The food baskets were distributed to 13 villages affected by the floods. Many victims had to seek shelter at designated Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS), including:

  • Lutong Sebangan Village Community Hall
  • Arus Melayu Village Hall
  • Bajong Dewan PPS
  • Sebuyau Development Dewan PPS

The assistance provided by SEB aims to ensure that affected families have access to essential food supplies during the recovery period.

Delivering Hope to Flood Victims

Apart from distribution at PPS locations, the Sebuyau District Office staff personally delivered food baskets to Heads of Households (KIR) and village representatives. This effort ensured that aid reached those in need, regardless of their location.

The community-based approach taken by SEB and local authorities reflects the spirit of unity and support in times of crisis. Such initiatives are crucial in helping families rebuild after natural disasters and ensuring that no one is left behind.

The residents of Sebuyau remain hopeful for continued assistance as they work towards recovering from the floods. — UKAS EDITION
