Sebuyau Council Unveils New Official Emblem

Sebuyau Council Unveils New Official Emblem

SEBUYAU – A new visual identity has been formally adopted by the Sebuyau District Council (MDS), following a recently concluded design competition.

The winning emblem was created by Abang Mohd Sabirin Abang Muis, whose submission was selected from a field of entries received during the month of May.

The competition, which ran from 2nd to 30th May 2025, was initiated to source a distinctive logo that encapsulates the district’s progressive spirit, communal unity, and unique local character.

Organisers reported receiving enthusiastic participation from a diverse cross-section of the community, with many young people submitting innovative concepts.

A panel of judges conducted a rigorous assessment of all entries before declaring Abang Mohd Sabirin the overall victor.

The Sebuyau District Officer, Ayuradiman Bujang, who also serves as the Council Chairman, presided over the prize-giving ceremony at the Sebuyau District Office on Tuesday.

As the grand prize winner, Abang Mohd Sabirin was awarded a cash prize of RM500 alongside a certificate of appreciation.

The second-place finisher, Muhammad Faizul Kanaini, received RM300, while the third spot was secured by Aqilah Muyassarah Ajaip, who was awarded RM100. Both runners-up also received certificates acknowledging their efforts.

The event was also attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Sebuyau District Council, Councillor Peter Naggi, and the Council Secretary, Oldrige Ripat Eric.
