Sebuyau Regatta 2025 – Day 2: Crowns River Racing Champions

SEBUYAU – The second day of the Sebuyau Regatta 2025 saw the Sebuyau Riverbank transform into a vibrant arena for traditional boat races. Thousands of spectators gathered to witness teams compete for the coveted King of the Sea title.

A total of 25 crews participated across seven fiercely contested race categories. The events were met with enthusiastic support, with cheers from the riverbank amplifying the competitive spirit. The overall champion, to be decided on the final day, will secure a top prize of RM20,000.

With a total prize pool of RM77,400 at stake, the competition remains intense. Beyond the river, the town was bustling with ancillary activities. Stalls offering local cuisine, traditional beverages, and community-produced goods proved popular with visitors.

The festivities extended into the evening at the Sebuyau Development Hall. A dance gymnastics competition featuring local groups was followed by a community stage performance. The day concluded with a concert by guest artist Winnie Albert.

The annual regatta continues to serve as a significant platform for strengthening communal bonds. It fosters a spirit of unity and togetherness among the diverse communities within the Sebuyau district, celebrating local culture and sporting heritage.
