KUCHING: Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj has commended the organization of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2024.

Royal Appreciation Despite Adverse Weather

Despite heavy downpours throughout the festival, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj attended the RWMF 2024, demonstrating his unwavering support for cultural events.

Minister’s Insights on Sultan’s Visit

Tourism, Creative Industries, and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah expressed surprise at the Sultan’s attendance, given the inclement weather. He highlighted the Sultan’s positive impressions of the festival’s atmosphere and organization.

Royal Feedback for Future Enhancements

During a press conference on the festival’s third day, June 30, Minister Abdul Karim shared that Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj provided valuable suggestions for improving future iterations of the RWMF. The Sultan’s extensive experience with music festivals contributed significantly to his constructive feedback.

The royal couple, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj and Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, graced RWMF 2024 on June 28, arriving at Kuching International Airport (KIA) and departing on a special flight after their official visit.
