Another RM10,000 has been earmarked for the construction of the ‘Bato Kalo’ landmark, a symbolic project commemorating the community’s former settlement in Ulu Balui. This portion will be disbursed through future allocations.

Speaking at the event, Senator Michael Mujah highlighted the importance of the programme in providing space for the community to reflect on its journey, honour the sacrifices of past generations, and plan for a brighter future.

He encouraged residents to continue striving for better living standards by emulating the success of those engaged in agriculture, particularly oil palm plantations, which remain the main source of income in the area.

“The anniversary celebration is not only about looking back but also about charting a path forward. Agriculture, especially oil palm, has proven to be a reliable source of livelihood, and I urge families to explore opportunities in this sector to improve their economic well-being,” he said.

The event also underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to rural development and community empowerment.

The allocations are expected to strengthen local organisations, support women’s initiatives, and preserve cultural heritage through the landmark project.
