KOTA SAMARAHAN – The spirit of compassion and solidarity was highlighted on Tuesday as Mini Market Farley organised the Sentuhan Kasih Programme, a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at supporting the needy during Ramadan.
The event brought together private organisations, government agencies, and community members in a collective effort to provide assistance. Donations were distributed in the form of vouchers, hampers, and meals, offering relief to families as they prepare for Aidilfitri.
The programme was officiated by Anuar Da’an, Special Administrative Officer of IRSDA, who represented Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament Datuk Rubiah Wang. He conveyed greetings and appreciation on her behalf, noting that she was unable to attend due to official duties in Kuala Lumpur.
In his address, Anuar commended Mini Market Farley for its commitment to social responsibility, describing the initiative as a noble effort that reflects the values of care and inclusivity. He emphasised that such programmes not only provide material support but also strengthen community ties.
Strategic collaboration with agencies such as the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) and the Samarahan District Education Office ensured that contributions were distributed effectively and reached the intended recipients. This coordination underscored the importance of partnerships between the private sector and government institutions in addressing community needs.
Anuar also highlighted the importance of nurturing a culture of mutual assistance, stressing that social concern must remain a cornerstone of community well-being. He noted that no group should be left behind in the pursuit of development and welfare, and initiatives like Sentuhan Kasih play a vital role in achieving this goal.
The programme served not only as a platform for distributing aid but also as a demonstration of the private sector’s ongoing commitment to the welfare agenda. By engaging with local stakeholders, the event reinforced the values of solidarity and inclusiveness, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan is celebrated through acts of kindness and generosity.
Community members expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the contributions provided much-needed relief during the festive season. For many, the programme symbolised more than just assistance, it was a reminder of the shared responsibility to care for one another and to uphold values that strengthen society.
As Ramadan continues, initiatives such as Sentuhan Kasih highlight the role of corporate organisations in complementing government efforts to uplift communities. The event in Kota Samarahan stands as a testament to the power of collaboration in fostering unity and compassion across Sarawak.
