Service2U Mobile Helpdesk Brings Community Closer in Sarawak

Service2U Mobile Helpdesk Brings Community Closer in Sarawak

KUCHING: The Service2U mobile helpdesk continued to receive encouraging response from the public as it made another stop at local kopitiams over the weekend, offering direct assistance and engagement with the community.

Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, expressed his appreciation to everyone involved, including community leaders (KMKK), local councillors, service centre and branch staff, volunteers, and members of the public who turned up to support the programme.

“This initiative shows the true spirit of community — where leaders, volunteers and the people come together to listen, assist and solve issues directly at the grassroots level,” said Dr Sim.

The mobile service counter, often described as the work of “busy bees,” has become a familiar sight in neighbourhood kopitiams. It provides a platform for residents to raise concerns, seek advice, and access services without the need to travel far from their homes.

By setting up in coffee shops — places where locals naturally gather — the Service2U team has managed to reach people in a casual and approachable environment. The effort reflects the government’s aim to bring services closer to the rakyat while strengthening ties with the community.

Residents welcomed the initiative, with many highlighting the convenience and personal touch of being able to meet service representatives face-to-face in their own neighbourhoods.

The Service2U programme, carried out with support from SUPP and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), is expected to continue in more areas across the state in the coming weeks.
