Sibu Firefighters Remove Insect Nest From Tree Safely Using Controlled Fire

SIBU – Firefighters in Sibu Jaya successfully carried out a special operation on Monday evening, 6 April 2026, to remove a dangerous insect nest from a tree located in front of a residential property.

The incident was reported at Amcorp Sample House in Sibu Jaya, prompting the deployment of a team from the Sibu Fire and Rescue Department. The operation was led by PBK I Terrance Anak Jimbun, who supervised the team on site.

The firefighters arrived swiftly, as the location was only about 1 kilometre from the station. Upon inspection, the team discovered a large insect nest situated approximately 10 metres high in a tree near the house. The commander directed his members to use full protective gear before commencing the removal.

Operational actions involved the use of flames combined with insecticide sprays to ensure the nest was destroyed completely.

The team worked methodically to neutralise the threat, preventing any risk to nearby residents. Once the operation was concluded, all equipment was safely returned to the station.

The team involved included PBK II Robin, who served as the driver, alongside PBK II Shaufik, PBB Aziz, PBB Kelvin Wong, and PBB Nur Syakirin. Their coordinated effort ensured the operation was completed without incident.
