Simanggang Assemblyman Inspects Rural Development Projects

SRI AMAN – Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, the Simanggang State Assemblyman, has conducted a progress review of multiple rural infrastructure initiatives in the Ulu Undop region.

The site visit focused on projects funded through the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) and the Sarawak Agency for Development of Aman (SADA).

The inspection aimed to verify work quality and ensure schemes remain on schedule for timely completion. This hands-on approach is part of ongoing efforts to guarantee that development directly benefits local communities.

Projects scrutinised included the construction of new access roads, concrete bridges, and other upgrading works. The tour encompassed several villages, such as Kampung Sebangkoi, Kampung Sebujok, and Kampung Kenyungan.

A significant project examined was the SADA-funded construction of a new concrete bridge over the Undop River at Kampung Beleti. This infrastructure is anticipated to significantly improve connectivity and safety for residents in the area.

Datuk Francis, who also serves as a Deputy Minister, stated that these initiatives reflect the state government’s continuous commitment to rural advancement.

He linked the projects to the broader objectives of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, which prioritises inclusive and sustainable prosperity.

He further emphasised that all development work must be executed with transparency and high quality. The primary goal is to deliver a tangible impact on the lives of people and narrow the development gap between urban and rural Sarawak.
