Two Men Injured in Road Accident at Simpang Malong

SARATOK – Two men suffered injuries following a road accident at Simpang Malong, near Saratok, this evening.

Saratok District Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) officer, Lieutenant Nur Athirah Batu, said a team of three members was dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving an emergency call.

“Upon arrival, we found that both victims had sustained injuries to their hands and facial wounds,” she said in a statement.

The APM team provided initial treatment by cleaning the wounds of the victims before handing them over to hospital personnel.

Both men were then taken to Saratok Hospital for further medical treatment. Their conditions are reported to be stable.

Authorities did not disclose further details about the type of vehicles involved or the cause of the accident, as investigations are still ongoing.

In the meantime, APM Saratok has reminded all road users to remain cautious while driving, especially at junctions such as Simpang Malong, which are known to be accident-prone areas.

“Always follow traffic rules, drive responsibly, and ensure your vehicle is in good condition before starting your journey. Road safety is not only about protecting yourself but also other road users,” the statement added.

This latest incident highlights the importance of road awareness in rural areas where traffic conditions can change suddenly and visibility is sometimes limited. Authorities continue to stress that simple precautions, such as wearing seatbelts, keeping safe distances, and avoiding speeding, can significantly reduce the risk of accidents.
