KUCHING: Member of the State Assembly (ADUN) for Simunjan, Awla Dris, received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Samarahan Division delegation, led by UKAS Officer Azzrie Mohamad, during an official session held at the Simunjan DUN Service Office on Thursday.

The visit aimed to strengthen the bilateral ties between government communication agencies and the People’s Representative Service Offices, particularly in delivering accurate, inclusive, and impactful information to the local population.

Throughout the two-hour session, both parties discussed a variety of issues and proposed joint initiatives to ensure that government policies and development efforts are effectively communicated to grassroots communities.

During the meeting, Awla expressed appreciation to UKAS for their proactive role in establishing close cooperation with the offices of elected representatives, especially those in rural areas. He acknowledged UKAS’ contributions in promoting government programmes, covering local activities, and disseminating updates on regional development.

He further reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate closely with the UKAS Samarahan Division in crafting more effective communication strategies that amplify the voices of the people and translate development goals into tangible realities.

This courtesy visit is expected to open doors for expanded collaboration between both parties, with a shared objective of enhancing communication effectiveness and increasing community engagement at all levels.
