Sarawak Upgrades SJK (C) Stampin Hall with RM200,000 RTP Project

Sarawak Upgrades SJK (C) Stampin Hall with RM200,000 RTP Project

KUCHING, Jan 20, 2026 — SJK (C) Stampin is set to receive a major upgrade to its school hall following the official handover of the Letter of Award for a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023 project today. The ceremony was witnessed by YB Wilfred Yap, who was also on site to present additional support to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

The Letter of Award was handed over by a Public Works Department (JKR) engineer to the appointed contractor, K.D.H Company, marking the formal start of the project. With a total contract value of RM200,000, the project focuses on upgrading the school hall’s facilities to enhance its safety, functionality and usability.

Among the key upgrades planned are the installation of a modern LED screen and a public address (P.A) system, alongside general renovation works. The project will be implemented under the supervision of JKR to ensure that all works meet approved specifications, quality standards and timelines.

YB Wilfred Yap described the initiative as part of the Sarawak Government’s ongoing effort to strengthen education infrastructure across the state. He emphasised that such improvements will provide students with better learning environments and support the school’s wider activities.

During the same visit, YB Wilfred Yap handed over a RM10,000 contribution cheque under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) to the SJK (C) Stampin PTA. The funds are intended to support school-related activities and programmes that benefit students and the broader school community.

The dual support from RTP and MRP reflects the government’s focus on both physical infrastructure and community-led school development. YB Wilfred Yap said the collaboration between JKR, school management and parents is essential for delivering meaningful outcomes.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with stakeholders in N12 Kota Sentosa to ensure education projects are executed effectively and produce tangible benefits for students and families.
