SERIAN – The Sarawak Government has reaffirmed its commitment to rural development with an allocation of RM690,000 to 57 recipients comprising Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), clubs, and local associations in the Tarat Constituency.

The allocation was disbursed during the 2025 Special Project Cheque Presentation Ceremony, held at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tarat Branch Service Centre on Sunday.

The ceremony was officiated by the Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is also the State Assemblyman for Tarat.

“Through this approach, we are not just providing financial resources but also empowering local communities to plan and implement development projects that are relevant to their needs,” he said.

Dato Sri Roland Sagah added that the ‘Projek Khas’ (Special Projects) are vital for ensuring grassroots participation in development and directly addressing local priorities in rural areas.
