Foreigner Dies in Suspected Hit-and-Run by Sports Car in Kuching
KUCHING, May 27: A tragic incident unfolded along Jalan Lapangan Terbang this evening when a foreign man lost his life in an apparent hit-and-run involving a high-powered sports car.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim was believed to be carrying out work near the roadside when he was suddenly hit by a fast-moving vehicle. The impact was so severe that the man was thrown to the ground, sustaining fatal injuries.

Medical personnel from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call. Unfortunately, upon arrival, paramedics confirmed that the victim had already died due to the serious injuries sustained during the crash.
Traffic police were also deployed to the location shortly after the incident was reported. Officers cordoned off the area to begin a preliminary investigation. Based on early findings, the case is being investigated as a possible hit-and-run, as the vehicle involved did not stop after the collision.
The body of the deceased has been transported to SGH for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the foreign national, pending notification of his family or embassy.
Police are urging anyone with information or dashboard camera footage of the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The public’s cooperation could be crucial in identifying the driver responsible for this fatal crash.
This incident has once again raised concerns over road safety and speeding vehicles, especially in urban areas with high pedestrian activity.
