Traffic police were also deployed to the location shortly after the incident was reported. Officers cordoned off the area to begin a preliminary investigation. Based on early findings, the case is being investigated as a possible hit-and-run, as the vehicle involved did not stop after the collision.

The body of the deceased has been transported to SGH for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the foreign national, pending notification of his family or embassy.
