Sri Aman Mosque Hosts Knowledge Sharing and Bubur Lambuk Event

SRI AMAN – The Islamic Religious Office of Sri Aman Division, in collaboration with Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak Sri Aman and Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) Sri Aman Branch, organised a Knowledge Sharing and Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme on 10 March 2026 at the Old Mosque of Kampung Tengah.

The event, held at 2.00 pm, aimed to provide the local community with greater awareness of Islamic charitable practices, including zakat, infaq, waqf, and fidyah.

The programme was designed to coincide with Ramadan, a month that emphasises generosity, reflection, and communal unity.

During the knowledge sharing session, participants were guided through the importance of fulfilling zakat obligations and the spiritual benefits of infaq and almsgiving.

These practices were highlighted as essential foundations for strengthening the welfare of the ummah. The session also included explanations on the laws and procedures of fidyah, particularly for individuals unable to complete fasting due to valid reasons.

The programme was further enriched by the distribution of bubur lambuk to residents of Kampung Tengah.

This traditional Ramadan dish, often prepared and shared in mosques across Malaysia, symbolises togetherness and the spirit of sharing sustenance during the holy month.

A significant moment of the event was the symbolic handover of the Al-Quran Mushaf Waqf to the Chairman of the Old Mosque Management Committee.

This gesture was intended to encourage the culture of waqf within the community, promoting donations that support mosque activities and enhance worship facilities.

The collaboration between the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS), Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak, and ASNB reflects a strategic effort to deliver accurate and authentic information on Islamic financial obligations and charitable practices.

By working together, these institutions aim to strengthen community understanding and ensure that religious responsibilities are observed with clarity and sincerity.

Programmes such as this are seen as vital in reinforcing social concern and unity among Muslims in Sri Aman.

By combining educational sessions with communal activities, the initiative not only deepens religious knowledge but also fosters bonds within the community.

As Ramadan progresses, similar events are expected to continue across Sarawak, further promoting awareness of Islamic obligations and encouraging charitable acts that benefit both individuals and society at large.
