The event was organised by the Lubok Antu District Education Office in collaboration with the Sri Aman District Education Office. It drew participation from schools across the division, with students competing in a spirit of healthy rivalry and cultural appreciation.
Among the guests present were Mr. Joni Collin Anak Singet, Deputy SPr; Mr. Dunstan Igah Nanta, Deputy SPS; Ms. Nur Farhana binti Abdullah from UPI PPD Lubok Antu; and Mr. Sabang anak Ujek, Headmaster of SK Engkilili No.2. The Postponement Inauguration Ceremony was officiated by Ustaz Syaifullah bin Ismail, who highlighted the deeper purpose of the Mahrajan.
In his address, he reminded participants that the event was not merely a competition but a platform to nurture discipline, identity and personality through the appreciation of the Quran and Islamic arts. He expressed gratitude to all parties involved in ensuring the programme’s success.
The objectives of the Mahrajan were clear: to cultivate a love for the Quran and Islamic values among students, while also uncovering their talents in recitation, nasyid and calligraphy.
The programme provided opportunities for students to build confidence, develop public speaking skills and strengthen bonds of cooperation between schools.
The impact of the event was evident as students demonstrated courage and creativity in presenting their abilities. Teachers and organisers noted that such programmes contribute to character formation and personality development, aligning with the aspirations of Curriculum 2027.
The overall winners of the Mahrajan Al-Quran, Nasyid and Khat Schools Sri Aman Division 2026 were SK Agama MIS Sri Aman in the primary category and SMK Sri Aman in the secondary category.
These schools will represent the division at the state-level competition in Sibu, where participants are expected to uphold the district’s reputation with excellence and noble character.
The programme concluded in a cheerful and harmonious atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of brotherhood and unity among the schools.
Organisers emphasised that the Mahrajan should continue as a valuable medium for student development, ensuring that future generations grow with strong values, cultural appreciation and confidence in their abilities.
