Sri Aman, Jan 17, 2026 — A welfare visit was carried out by the Sri Aman District Police leadership to the family of the victim involved in a recent murder case at Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, as a mark of sympathy and institutional concern.
The visit was led by Sri Aman District Police Chief Superintendent Dennis Anak Bunyam together with his wife, Puan Olivia Nayun Anak Kunsu, who is also the Chairman of PERKEP Sri Aman. They were accompanied by a delegation of senior police officers, personnel from the Sri Aman District Police Headquarters, and members of PERKEP Sri Aman.
Upon arrival at the victim’s residence, Superintendent Dennis personally conveyed condolences to the grieving family members, including the children of the deceased. He expressed deep sympathy over the tragic loss and assured the family that the police force shared in their sorrow. As a gesture of compassion, he also represented the officers and staff of IPD Sri Aman in presenting a sincere contribution collected from police personnel to assist the victim’s heirs during this difficult period.
The welfare visit was conducted after the conclusion of the PERKEP General Meeting Session for 2026 to 2027. According to those present, the initiative reflected PERKEP’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and the importance of standing together with families affected by serious crimes. Beyond material assistance, the visit aimed to provide moral support and reassurance that the family was not facing their hardship alone.
Also present during the visit were the Deputy Chief of Police of Sri Aman District, Deputy Superintendent of Police Neil Anak Beginda, and his wife Puan Connie Anak Benet, who serves as the Vice Chairman of PERKEP Sri Aman. Divisional heads and police station heads from the district also joined the delegation, underscoring the collective support of the local police leadership.
Members of the family were visibly moved by the presence of the police and PERKEP representatives. The visit provided a moment of quiet solidarity, allowing the family to feel heard and supported as they continue to cope with their loss.
The Sri Aman District Police reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and community engagement, stating that such outreach efforts are part of their responsibility not only to enforce the law but also to care for the well-being of the community they serve. The visit ended with prayers and words of comfort for the deceased’s family.
