SRI AMAN – A Nuzul Al-Quran seminar was successfully held on 5 March 2026 at SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak in Sri Aman, in conjunction with the Sarawak-level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration for 1447H/2026M.
The programme was jointly organised by the Darul Hana–Majlis Islam Sarawak Quran Development Centre, the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department, and SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak Sri Aman.
The seminar was designed to deepen understanding among the local Muslim community about the revelation of the Quran and the importance of appreciating its teachings.
Organisers said the programme aimed to strengthen religious knowledge while helping participants better understand how Quranic guidance can be applied in daily life.
The half-day seminar featured five speakers who shared insights on different aspects of Quranic studies. Ustaz Haji Salahuddin bin Marzuki spoke about the history of the Quran, while Ustaz Yussof bin Hazmi discussed Waqaf Ibtida’.
Ustaz Muhammad Tarmizi bin Hussein delivered a presentation on the Study of Al-Fatihah, and Ustaz Wan Muhammad Mujahid bin Wan Alwi introduced the Darul Hana Quran Development Centre–Majlis Islam Sarawak (DHQc-MIS) programme.
The seminar received strong participation, with 210 attendees from across Sri Aman taking part. The closing ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Ustaz Haji Mual bin Haji Suaud, Director of the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department and Secretary of the Sarawak Islamic Council.
Nuzul Al-Quran, which marks the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad SAW, is observed annually by Muslims around the world.
In Sarawak, the celebration is usually marked with educational seminars, religious talks, and community programmes aimed at encouraging reflection on Quranic teachings and their relevance to modern life.
Participants expressed appreciation for the seminar, saying that it provided useful knowledge about the history and interpretation of the Quran. Topics such as Al-Fatihah and Waqaf Ibtida’ were particularly helpful for improving Quranic recitation and understanding.
Organisers stressed that the seminar was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Islamic education in Sarawak. By bringing together scholars, educators, and community members, the programme aimed to ensure that Quranic values continue to guide future generations.
The event also highlighted the importance of cooperation between religious institutions, schools, and government agencies in promoting Islamic knowledge.
With strong attendance and positive feedback, the seminar demonstrated the continued importance of Nuzul Al-Quran in promoting unity and spiritual growth among the Muslim community in Sri Aman.
