KUCHING: The strong and collaborative relationship between the Sarawak Government and the Federal Government continues to play a crucial role in the state’s development, bringing about significant economic progress and prosperity.

Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, highlighted the importance of the ongoing cooperation with the Federal Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized that the state has always received consistent support and constructive engagement during their discussions with the Federal Government.
“What matters most at this moment is the strength of our national economy under Datuk Seri Anwar’s leadership. On behalf of my colleagues in the Sarawak Cabinet, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to him,” said Abang Zohari.

He also mentioned that whenever Sarawak proposes new initiatives or seeks changes for the state’s economic development, Prime Minister Anwar is always receptive and fully supportive. Abang Zohari noted that this continuous collaboration enables Sarawak to contribute significantly to the growth of Malaysia’s economy. He added that the state’s economic strength is an important factor in ensuring the country’s overall progress.
Abang Zohari made these remarks during the 2025 MADANI Aidilfitri Celebration at Perpaduan Stadium in Petra Jaya, which was attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof. The event was a vibrant occasion where guests from various communities had the opportunity to interact with the leaders.
Furthermore, Abang Zohari emphasized that the positive relationship between the Sarawak and Federal Governments not only supports the state’s development but also paves the way for economic opportunities for future generations. He expressed confidence that with continued strong collaboration, both Sarawak and Malaysia would have a prosperous future.
“The success we are seeing today is not a recent development, but the result of years of political stability and a united society,” said Abang Zohari, acknowledging the ongoing effort to ensure a bright future for Sarawak.
