SEGAMAT – The Sultan Ibrahim Foundation Johor (YSIJ), in collaboration with Sena Foundation, has announced a significant healthcare initiative to support patients requiring knee joint rehabilitation surgery.
The programme, valued at RM300,000, will provide Total Knee Replacement (TKR) procedures for 12 selected individuals at the newly opened Sena Specialist Hospital in Segamat.
The symbolic handover of the donation was officiated by Dato’ Avinderjit Singh, Managing Trustee of YSIJ, alongside Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr.) Tan Boon Hock, Director of Sena Foundation and Group Managing Director of SENA Healthcare Services, and Mohd Anizam Jamian, Chief Executive Officer of YSIJ. The cheque was presented to Michelle Tan, Group Chief Executive Officer of Sena Healthcare Services.
All surgeries will be conducted at Sena Specialist Hospital, which boasts modern facilities and medical expertise tailored to orthopaedic care.
The initiative marks the first collaboration between YSIJ and Sena Foundation, coinciding with the hospital’s official opening ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Anizam described the partnership as a promising beginning for expanding healthcare assistance.
“We really hope that this kind of collaboration can continue and be a catalyst for more collaborations with other foundations and corporate companies in the future,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by Johor State Health and Environment Executive Councillor YB Ling Tian Soon and Sekijang Member of Parliament YB Dato’ Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, highlighting the importance of the initiative in strengthening healthcare access for communities in Johor.
This collaboration underscores Sultan Ibrahim Foundation’s ongoing commitment to welfare programmes, particularly in healthcare, while Sena Foundation’s involvement reflects its dedication to providing medical support through corporate social responsibility.
The RM300,000 contribution is expected to ease the burden of patients who otherwise may not have had access to such costly procedures, offering them renewed mobility and improved quality of life.
