Sultan of Selangor Pays Final Respects to Late Mother-in-Law at Royal Burial

SHAH ALAM — His Majesty Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, paid his last respects to his mother-in-law, the late Hajah Esah binti Tahar, whose remains were laid to rest at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum today.

His Majesty was accompanied by Her Majesty Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, who is the youngest daughter of the deceased.

The late Hajah Esah, 82, breathed her last at 5.15 am today at a specialist hospital in Damansara due to old age. Born in Klang, Selangor, she is remembered as a devoted mother and respected figure in her community.

Following funeral prayers at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, the remains of the late Hajah Esah were taken to the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum for burial. She was laid to rest next to the grave of her late husband, Haji Abdul Rahman bin Baba, who passed away in 2021.

Family members, relatives, and close acquaintances gathered to pay their respects, offering prayers and condolences to the royal family. The solemn ceremony reflected the deep bond of family values and traditions upheld within the Selangor royal household.

The passing of the late Hajah Esah is seen as a profound loss, not only to the family but also to those who knew her as a kind and humble individual. Many have extended their sympathies to the royal family during this time of mourning.
