Acting quickly on public tip-offs and evidence collected at the scene, the police managed to crack the case within 24 hours. Six male suspects, including both local and foreign citizens in their 40s, were arrested in the Miri, Sarawak area. Authorities believe these suspects were directly involved in the fatal assault.

Bintulu District Police Chief, Superintendent Nixon Joshua Ali, confirmed that a remand application will be made at the Bintulu Magistrate’s Court to allow further investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.

Superintendent Nixon warned the public against spreading unverified information about the case, stressing that the investigation is ongoing and all facts must be respected. He also assured that the police will show no mercy towards criminals threatening the safety of the people.

“The police are fully committed to finding every individual responsible for this brutal act. Anyone with further information is urged to come forward and contact the Bintulu IPD Operations Room at 086-318304,” he said.

The police also reminded all citizens to work hand-in-hand with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and security in the community.

This tragic case shows that violence has no place in our society, and that the authorities are fully prepared to take fast and firm action to uphold justice.
