Organised by the Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung (JKKK) for the first time in the village’s history, the dinner was described as a major milestone by the event’s organising chairperson, Penghulu Diana John. Guests began arriving at 6:30 PM and were welcomed with a slideshow showcasing the village’s cultural achievements and community spirit. At 7:20 PM, Guest of Honour YB See Chee How, Batu Lintang Assemblyman, arrived to join the evening’s festivities. Businessman Albert Lee represented YB Dato’ Ir. Lo Khere Chiang on the event.

An opening prayer led by Reverend Kamor Diah set a respectful and meaningful tone. The evening officially began with a warm welcome from the Master of Ceremonies, followed by cultural performances that lit up the hall. Guests were served dinner as speeches followed. Penghulu Diana John addressed the crowd with a mix of pride and emotion, sharing that she would soon be stepping down from her leadership role after 24 months of service. She thanked the community for their support and encouraged them to continue working together in preserving their culture. The dinner event, which also served as a fundraiser through table sales and donations, will help finance future activities and development efforts in the village.

The atmosphere turned lively with a lucky draw session. Five lucky winners were announced by Kuching District Information Officer, Mrs. Pauline Sating, bringing cheers and laughter throughout the room. More entertainment followed as sponsor songs played and attendees continued to enjoy the evening.

A significant highlight of the night was the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the young cultural group performers. These talented individuals, aged between 9 and 18, were recognised for their contribution to preserving traditional Iban music and dance. Leading their efforts was Mrs. Juliana Lumam, who was specially honoured for managing and training the group in just under two months, demonstrating leadership and passion for cultural development.
