Upon arrival, the APM team conducted a careful inspection of the area beneath the house. They discovered a black cobra measuring approximately one metre in length.

Utilising professional pinching techniques, the squad successfully restrained the reptile without incident. The operation was executed with precision, ensuring the safety of the residents nearby and the personnel involved.

“A total of 04 members were mobilised, and we successfully captured the snake using the pinching method safely,” an APM Tanjung Manis spokesperson confirmed. “The operation ended without any incident.”

Following the successful capture, the cobra was safely secured and transported away from the residential zone to be released into a natural habitat far from human settlement.

The presence of a cobra in a high-density living area like the government staff housing underscores the importance of maintaining a tidy compound.

The APM advises residents to regularly check dark, damp areas beneath their homes and to keep vegetation trimmed to prevent attracting wildlife.

Residents are strongly urged to avoid approaching or attempting to catch cobras themselves, as these snakes are highly venomous and defensive when cornered. In the event of a sighting, please contact the Civil Defence Force immediately for professional assistance.
